Great is the Lord, a shout of praise based on Isaiah 25:6-9

praisejesusBased on Isaiah 25:6-9

In a group setting, the words in regular print are spoken by one voice and the words in bold print are spoken by all.

Rejoice and be glad in the God of our salvation!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Great is the Lord who destroys the shroud cast over all people and nations
Remove it now, O Lord

Great is the Lord who swallows up death that we may feast forever
Save us, O Lord

Great is the Lord who wipes every tear from our faces
Console us, O Lord

Great is the Lord who removes our disgrace
Deliver us, O Lord

We wait for this day with hope
We work for this day on earth as it is in heaven
In your mercy, our healing and forgiveness is made complete

Hallelujah to the God of our salvation!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen!

We Stand in Awe, a prayer of praise based on Luke 7.11-17

Christ Raising the Dead by Louisa Anne, Marchioness of Waterford 1818-1891

Christ Raising the Dead Louisa Anne, Marchioness of Waterford 1818-1891 Bequeathed by Adelaide, Lady Brownlow 1917 http://www.tate.org.uk/art/work/N03222

Based on Luke 7:11-17, Jesus raises the widow’s son

Jesus, we stand in awe before your mighty power
You defeat the grave
You are victorious over death
Raise us from our funeral beds
Raise us to life
Your word awakening us
Your Divine breath once more in our lungs

Jesus, we stand in awe before your great compassion
You defeat our isolation
You are victorious over our poverty
Raise us from our mourning
Raise us to life
Your word transforming us
Your daily bread once more in our mouths

Hallelujah to Jesus, our Savior and Lord!
Hallelujah to your mercy, to your favor, to your presence!
You meet us where we are
and meet our most desperate need!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Amen!

Prayer: O Lord, My Heart is Not Proud

Sunrise over sea
O Lord, my heart is not proud
I trust you and need you and honor your blessed presence

Cleanse and nurture my soul
that I may rejoice in what delights you,
see as you see, love as you love

Cleanse and nurture my soul
so my thoughts are as yours,
so I am quick to respond to your bidding

Cleanse and nurture my soul
so that I may leave this world more as you intend it to be

I place myself honestly and humbly into your care,
for you know me truly and love me completely
Amen

My time, my talents, my calling- a prayer of surrender

srrrender quoteLord, the opportunities of the world stretch before me. Many are good but only a few are best. Many could be my path in you, but far fewer actually are.

My time is a gift from you
My time is precious
My time is short

My talents are a gift from you
They can only bless and influence
when focused and deployed with purpose

My calling is a gift from you
I cannot do all things
Save me from wanting to
and trying to

I surrender it all to you
I trust you

Focus my time and talents and calling for your greatest glory. I am at peace confident in your best purposes for me. Grant me courage to step forward faithfully and leave behind faithfully. Amen
