Prayer at Sunrise (Matthew 5.14-16)

sunrise hold sun

Matthew 5:14-16
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Jesus, every morning the sun rises
Reminding us of your Light
Surrounding us
Radiant with blessing
Brilliant with deliverance
Overcoming all darkness

Jesus, every morning, raise us up
Your light in the world
Remove us from our hiding places
Set us atop the hill to shine
To reflect your grace as beacons of hope
To reflect your truth as lamps to stand
To reflect your ways and offer your life
A glory to our Father in heaven
